.... or Golden Princess nowadays. Many of her certificates are overdue, since 10th of march this year. ( http://www.veristar.com/wps/portal/equasis?IMO=6622458). Probably laid up somewhere...? Does anyone know better?

Just in couple of years: Finnpartner, Finnhansa, Finnjet...... and soon also Finlandia? :umm:

For those who may not know... http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/finlandia_1967.htm When entering service -10 years before Jetti - she was largest and fastest ferry on the Baltic sea.

Presumably she'd be laid up somewhere in the vicinity of Hong Kong, as fairly recent accounts (from last year or the year before, don't remember exactly) placed her continuing casino cruises from Hong Kong. This of course is only an educated guess.

The ship heading for scrappers would certainly be no surprise. She's extremely unlikely to pass SOLAS 2010 without major alterations, which probably would not pay off for a ship that old. Newer and larger ships have also entered the Hong Kong casino cruise market during the recent years and as such it might be that it doesn't make economic sense even to extend the Golden Princess' certificates for another year.

To be honest there isn't much of the original Finlandia left in the current Golden Princess either. As such losing her isn't nearly as bad as scrapping of the 1966 Finnhansa or Jetti was.
